Darn it! We were cheering David Archuleta on! I so wish he would have won! He's just so cute and innocent and sweet! And boy does that kid have talent! I was for sure he would take it all. It was even more surprising to me that Cook won by 12 million votes! That is a bunch of craziness. Especially after Archuleta did so well on Tuesday night! I was so happy the whole show because I was so sure that he would win, but then they announced...David...Cook! I was so mad! I do think that Cook is a good singer, but he definitely was not as consistent as Archuleta was. Archuleta's voice is just striking! And the performance of Apologize?! That was awesome! We had to rewind and watch that one a couple of times. We loved it! Archuleta is going to do just fine though. That kid, he has a natural talent in singing. It's just being from Utah and being LDS and all, it would have been awesome to have one of our own hold the title. Oh Well! We still love ya David Archuleta!

A Family of Runners!
Wednesday was the mile and Thursday was the half mile and he did the relay again too. He did awesome! The mile he won with a time of 4:53! That was also his personal best! Then on Thursday the T.H. Bell kid beat him on the half mile but only by one second! Darn it! Then Dustin's team won the relay as well. It was a way fun season to watch! Thanks Dust!
Then my other brother Eric had the Ogden marathon to run on Saturday. Anybody who can do this is just amazing. My mom, sister and me decided that next year MAYBE we could walk the half mile. That will be our goal. I am totally NOT a runner! But everyone else in my family is. So Eric did the marathon before his mission and did it with a time of 3:30. Which is just unbelievable! The race started at 7:00 in the morning and at about 10:00 he came out of the canyon, so we cheered him on then hurried and jumped in the car and drove to Dinosaur park so we could watch him go through there. Then after he passed us again, we hurried and drove to the finish line.
That's right! His time is 3:27:37! Can you believe that! he beat his time by 3 minutes! He didn't ever walk either! He ran the ENTIRE time! He said he was just dying and hurting by the end, but he didn't show it very much! He was smiling and happy each time we saw him. At the end of the race though, he was just dead! I don't blame him! At the finish line they had a line of medical people for anyone who would need them. Some would come through and just collapse because their legs would cramp up really bad and others were even bleeding. Eric took 127th place out of 1900 (I think) and 9th place in his age group! Man I admire all of you who did that marathon!

Moms are the best!
Yesterday was Mother's day and I just have to say that I have the best mom in the world! She does so much for our family and is such a strong person. She is a convert to the church but is stronger for it. She served a mission although her dad wanted her to have an arranged marriage instead. But in her heart, she knew what was right. Thank goodness she was so strong and served a mission because that is where she first met my dad. Then after her mission, she didn't go home to India, instead she went to school in Idaho and met up with my dad again and they dated and got married while going to BYU. She has taught all of us kids valuable life lessons that hopefully we will be able to teach our own kids. She has taught us the importance of having the gospel in our lives. Her and my dad made sure we never missed a day of family prayer and scripture reading. And there were many times when I would walk into her room at night and find her on her knees. I know that she was and still does pray for us kids everyday. My mom put up with a lot from me growing up. Raising teenagers I'm sure isn't the easiest thing in the world but I have to say she does it well. She is "The Perfect Fan" to all of us. This song perfectly describes how I feel about my mother. She is so special to me.
The Perfect Fan
It takes a lot to know what is love
It's not the big thing but the little things
That can mean enough
A lot of players to get me through
There is never a day that passes by
I don't think of you
You were always there for me
Pushing me and guiding me
Always to succeed
You showed me
When i was young just how to grow
You showed me everything that i should know
You showed me just how to walk without your hands
'Cause mom you always were the perfect fan
God has been so good
With blessing me with the family
Who did all they could
And I've had many years of Grace
And it flatters me when i see a smile on your face
I wanna thank you for what you've done
In hopes I can give back to you
And be the perfect son
You showed me
When i was young just how to grow
You showed me everything that i should know
You showed me just how to walk without your hands
'Cause mom you always were the perfect fan
You showed me how to love
You showed me how to care
And showed me that you would always be there
I wanna thank you for the time
And i'm proud to say you're mine
You showed me
When i was young just how to grow
You showed me everything that i should know
You showed me just how to walk without your hands
'Cause mom you always were the perfect fan
'Cause Mom you always were, Mom you always were
Mom you always were...the perfect fan
I Love You Mom
My mom is so proud to be a grandma and she just absolutely adores Boston to death! She is the first to always offer a helping hand...especially when it means she can spend time with Boston! She is such an awesome mother, grandmother, wife and friend. I love you mom!
I also have the best mother-in-law anyone could ever ask for. Julie is just the sweetest person ever. She is so sweet and is the best grandmother to all of her grandkids. Boston is the fourth grandchild, but the first grandbaby boy. He gets spoiled from both sides! I am so grateful that Julie has raised Ryan to be the man he is today. She also has taught Ryan the importance of having the gospel in his life and I am so grateful for that because my husband is a worthy priesthood holder. Julie is such a giving person and has done so much for our family.
This was my first Mother's Day! I have to say that being a mom is the greatest gift Heavenly Father has given me next to marrying my husband. I always heard other women say that there are just no words that can describe the love you have for your own children. I have always loved little kids and babies, but really, the love I have for my own child doesn't compare to anything else. Although I loved being pregnant, I love holding him in my arms even more. I hope that I can take all the wisdom my mom has and use it to be even half the mom she was to me. Thanks mom for all you do and I love you so much!
