This was Boston's first ever plane ride and he did awesome! And it helped that we had first class tickets! We got lucky. They were over booked by two people, and they asked for volunteers to be bumped and they would fly us first class to Oahu (instead of Maui) and we would spend the night there and fly in to Maui in the morning, and they also would give us $800 to fly anywhere Delta flew to make up for it...so we jumped on the opportunity! We had an excellent flight, and now we can plan another fun trip!
We finally got to Maui and Boston was so funny. I think he was just so excited to get off the plane, he just kept laughing and giggling the whole time. Everyone thought he was so cute. It was pretty hilarious!
The pools in Hawaii aren't heated like the pools here because the weather is so warm. So it was a little cold for Boston at first, but then he got used to it and loved it! We stayed at a hotel called the Grand Wailea. There were tons of little pools that were connected together with little water slides. We took Boston down all of them. He thought it was pretty fun.
Ryan and Boston in front of the adult pool at the Grand Wailea. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful!
This is the sunset the second night in Maui. It was beautiful! You can't tell, but that's Ryan in the picture.
Sunset from the same night. Sunsets in Hawaii, I have to say, are one of Heavenly Father's most beautiful creations.
The whole Smith gang! Cute family huh!
When we went to church, we crammed all 15 of us in the Expedition we rented. You can't really tell in the picture, but we had to put 4 people in the trunk, 4 people in the back and middle seats, 2 people in the passenger seat and then the driver. It was pretty funny. For easter the ward had a really nice program. It was actually a missionary farewell and it was really cute cause after sacrament, they all sing a song called Aloha Oui and as everybody sang, all the members of the family would walk up to him and give him a hug and a lei.We went to a luau and while the dancers were dancing, Boston was just staring at them. So we had to get his picture taken with them.
Ryan and Boston at the luau. The sunsets were pretty everyday.
After the luau, we walked along the beach. This was Boston's first time feeling sand on his feet. It was pretty funny to watch him. He just kept digging his little toes into the sand.
Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to turn this pic. Ryan was getting ready to take a picture of just me and Boston right here, and this lady walked up and offered to take our picture. So she did and after she walked away, Ryan was totally convinced it was Jodie Foster. It turns out it wasn't her, but she was at the hotel so we had our eye out. But we did see a few other famous people. Ryan and Boston got their picture taken with Magic Johnson who was there with Dave Winfield, a baseball hall-of-famer. I didn't get to see them, but I guess they were being really cute and playing with all the kids. Dave was pitching balls so the kids could hit them. Ryan also talked to Pierce Brosnan aka James Bond, and Maria Sherapova, a famous tennis player. We saw Sean Kingston who is an island style singer/rapper. We put some of his songs on our playlist. Ryan's sister and husband thought they saw Owen Wilson, and we heard that Brett Favre was there, but never saw him.
Every morning, we had this yummy breakfast. We miss that! We could have fresh fruit, omelets, waffles, pancakes, bacon, eggs, basically anything we wanted! It was so delightful!
All the kids loved to go on the beach and build sand castles. There were some awesome ones that other people had made. There were crocodiles, big castles, sea turtles, and even a person floating on an inner-tube!
Me and my hubby!
This was the sunset the last night we were there. We miss Hawaii!
Thanks Chuck and Julie for an amazing trip!
